Section 63 of the Indian Succession Act, 1925:

It lays down only three mandatory conditions for a valid Will:

1. It must be in writing.

2. Signed by the testator.

3. Attested by two or more witnesses.

Also, Section 18(e) of the Registration Act, 1908 says that 

“The registration of a Will is optional.”
